吴云根（1892-1969年）
又名吴芝莱。14岁向汪春荣（生义）学习制陶技艺，与汪宝根、朱可心为师兄弟。1915年，由江苏宜兴利用陶器公司介绍，去山西省平定县平民陶器工厂人技师，历时三年，此间不仅传授紫砂陶的成型技术，还利用炭釉炉试验烧成的炉均紫砂彩釉陶，成为近代宜兴陶艺界向外传播紫砂技艺的杰出代表之一。他待人谦和大度，德艺俱佳，作品如人品敦厚、朴实，大批学子在其扶掖之下，步入紫砂工艺殿堂。现今著名制壶名家吕尧臣、吴震、何挺初、葛明仙等均出其门下。汪寅仙最早由他亲沐教泽，并推荐于师弟朱可心处学艺。他长期从事学院的艺事正规教学，十分重视紫砂陶艺的写生技巧，尤其对竹的形态特别关注，达到炉火纯青的境界，教导艺徒们制壶要讲究形似，更重神似，要懂生态规律，识其品相，从生活中体会写生，方能融会贯通。他的制壶风格朴实稳重，擅长光素器、筋纹器制作，于仿制传统产品中别抒机心，善作变化，给人以新颖之感，享有“出神入化”之美誉。他的作品喜用双色泥质表达主体，主体与附件用两种泥色处理，相互呼应，色泽和谐，鲜明得体。造壶讲究整体的气韵，端正稳健，有挺拔之势，流、把、肩、盖处用线过渡十分流畅，触觉舒适、便利、实用；营造艺壶，讲究虚与实、方与圆的对比效果，使壶富有浓郁的古色古香的韵味，点缀装饰细腻逼真，整体造型布局匀称，浑然天成，毫无雕琢之气。
